DirectorLink · DoorBird for Control4

A free, open-source Control4 driver for DoorBird video door stations. Rings with the picture, live video, the gate from a tap on the tile, keypad codes, RFID tags and motion, all from DoorBird's own LAN API. It works on your local network: no cloud, no extra hardware and no subscription.

Free. No subscription, no license key, no account with us.

Made by DirectorLink, the open-source management layer for Control4 homes. Works on its own: DirectorLink is not required.

What it needs

Setup in three steps

  1. Make a DoorBird user

In the DoorBird app: Settings → Administration, then User → Add. Turn on API-Operator, Watch Always, History and Motion. Give the DoorBird a fixed IP address in the router.

  2. Add the driver and the login

In Composer Pro, add DirectorLink · DoorBird to the room of the door, and enter the DoorBird's Address, Username and Password. Within half a minute Status says Online - events live.

  3. Choose the gate

Gate Relay is the relay a tap on the tile opens. For a Control4 Relay Gate, Door or Garage Controller, bind it under Connections → Control to the DoorBird's relay.

If Status names something to fix, such as a missing permission, fix it in the DoorBird app and run Reconnect. Events, keypad codes, the camera page and every setting are on the driver's Documentation tab in Composer and in the full guide.

With DirectorLink

DirectorLink 1.10 and newer shows the DoorBird as a doorbell as soon as both are installed, with nothing to set up: rings with the live picture on the family's phones, motion alerts when Alert On Motion is on, and the gate opened with two taps through its Relay Gate Controller. The DoorBird login never leaves the controller.
